Senior Operations Associate

‍The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Associate to join our team. This position requires proficiency in aggregating data, measuring investment performance, building and improving performance reports, streamlining operational processes, and a strong familiarity with alternative investments and multi-family offices. As a Senior Associate you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our operations and reporting team.

Primary Responsibilities

Performance Reporting:

  • Build, maintain and improve performance reports and metrics based on aggregated financial data.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and presentations to showcase investment performance, portfolio diversification, risk exposure, and other key metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Consulting Teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting to clients.
  • The ability to build and breakdown analytics (MOIC, IRR, TWRR) and explain them to internal stakeholders is an added benefit.

 

Financial Data Aggregation & Management:

  • Aggregate, reconcile, and verify financial data from various sources, including investment managers, custodians, brokers, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness for further analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of financial data by implementing/following robust data management practices.
  • Develop and maintain databases, systems, and tools to store, organize, and analyze financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.

Process Streamlining:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Operations department.
  • Develop and implement streamlined procedures and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, including centralizing performance reporting within the Operations department.
  • Automate manual tasks wherever possible to reduce errors and save time.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) beneficial.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a financial services environment, preferably a smaller firm (i.e., hedge fund manager, multi-family office or another financial services firm) with demonstrated leadership or progression during that time.
  • Strong understanding of alternative investments and their operational requirements along with relevant metrics including time weighted return, money weighted return, multiples of invested capital, etc.
  • Proficient in using financial software and systems for data aggregation, management, and reporting, including Salesforce, Addepar and Canoe.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends or anomalies.
  • Demonstrated experience in streamlining processes, improving operational efficiency, and implementing automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, projects, or initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Strong Microsoft Office technical knowledge, particularly Excel.
